It would appear that Hiroi Ohji, the person responsible for developing Sakura Wars, is also participating in the development of Tokyo Taisen, a blockchain-based game that was only recently unveiled to the general public for the very first time. The information was obtained from a report that documented an event that was hosted by game business Creta and published in Game Watch on December 12, 2022. The date of publication was 2022. About the event, the report was produced for the reader.

The attendees of the event, which was given the name Creta Summit 2022, were given the most recent information regarding the work that has been made in the creation of Creta’s numerous games that are currently in development. Creta was established with the intention of concentrating on the creation of blockchain-based video games, in addition to investigating projects connected to NFTs, “metaverse” worlds, and other undertakings. This was the primary motivation behind the company’s founding. This was the plan when Creta was first conceived. The Creta product line is built on top of the Locus blockchain, which acts as its foundation. One of these ideas involves the establishment of digital “multiverses,” in which users will be able to buy “land” by exchanging NFT tokens for real-world currency. Fortress 3 and Kingdom Under Fire: The Rise is two examples of Creta games that are now in the process of being produced. Other titles like these are also in the works. During the course of the ceremony, the presentation of Tokyo Taisen was both unexpected and unwanted news to everyone in attendance. At this point, except for the project’s logo, there are no other graphics that can be accessed that are associated with the venture.

It is currently unclear whether or not the game has any kind of direct link to Sakura Wars in any manner, shape, or form (which is called Sakura Taisen in Japan). However, the word “Taisen” is used in the title of the logo, and there is various cherry blossom (sakura) emblems; hence, when one sees this, they are likely to think of the Sakura Wars. Even the game’s slogan, “Flowers and Cherry Blossoms,” makes a reference to the extensive flower theming that is present in all works related to the Sakura Wars franchise. “Flowers and Cherry Blossoms” refers to both cherry blossoms and flowers. This is a direct allusion to the fact that flower motifs serve as the primary design element for the entirety of the game.

When the executives of Creta were queried about the Tokyo Taisen project, they did not give any precise specifics, but they did indicate that persons who were present at the event were active in the production of the game in some fashion. This was Creta’s reply to the question that was being asked. Without a sure, this pertains to Hiroi Ohji, who was there the whole time the presentation was being given. Other persons, such as current and previous executives from Sega and other firms that are affiliated with Sega, were also present at the event. Additionally, there were a number of other people there.

At this time, Sega is in possession of all of the rights pertaining to the Sakura Wars brand and the properties that are linked with it. Shin Sakura Taisen, which was launched by the company in 2019 and was the most recent game in the Sakura Wars series, was the most recent game to be released (released as Sakura Wars in English). Sakura Revolution, a mobile spin-off that was initially released in December 2020 and then removed from the market in June 2021 due to the game’s mediocre performance in the market, was a mobile spin-off that was initially launched in December 2020.
