OKX World Cup Odds

It’s time for the OKX World Cup. The World Cup is without a doubt the most important sporting event on the planet. While this edition has been tarnished by human rights violations and the unscrupulous manner in which it was won, 32 countries have gathered together to determine who will reign supreme for the next four years.

The crypto community takes use of the World Cup to get awareness.

Even in the cryptocurrency world, the World Cup has an impact. Cristiano Ronaldo recently launched an NFT collection on Binance. While this would have been noteworthy in and of itself, it was overshadowed by Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao’s Twitter spat with Sam Bankman-Fried, which ultimately led to the scandalous collapse of FTX.

Lionel Messi stole Ronaldo’s thunder (what a goal against Mexico), and now Sam Bankman-Fried. He just can’t seem to get a break.

OKX has also introduced an OKX Football Cup, a competition in which players can mint NFTs and compete for prizes. While it has been critical for everyone monitoring the NFT market for its lack of value as a component of the floundering metaverse, most people definitely love and enjoy football.

So, despite the current aversion to NFTs, with the possibility of minting free NFTs for three different teams, People decided to have a look and see which teams were best positioned to win the World Cup. However, please note and take into consideration that these NFTs with OKX are not entirely free. Customers must still pay gas fees, which may be quite high on Ethereum and have deterred me from minting one myself.

However, as long as your mint before the group stage closes on December 3rd, you will be able to enter the competition with simply the petrol fee.

Who will take home the World Cup?

To determine which teams are the greatest to mint, There has been a lot of analysis regarding the probabilities of each team winning the event. The main source of this analysis is the bookmaker odds as of Tuesday, November 29th (before the England/US group was resolved this evening).

Brazil is considered the most probable team to win the event, with a 27.4% chance. Personally, I’d want to see it happen. Brazil’s national squad is nothing short of iconic and having not lifted the title since 2002, it would be fantastic to see them accomplish so.

Since Brazil defeated Germany 2-0 in Yokohama, Japan in 2002, European countries have won the last four World Cups. Italy won four years later in 2006 (thanks to a mental breakdown by Zinedine Zidane), Spain won in 2010 as part of their absolute dominance of international football, Germany defeated Argentina in 2014, and France defeated a spirited Croatian team in 2018.

Is minting Brazil a good idea?

In reality, the answer to who to mint here is simple. Brazil, France, and Spain are the top three favorites. With chances of winning of 27.4%, 14.7%, and 12.2%, respectively, there is a 53% likelihood that one of the three will hoist the trophy.

But where is the joy in selecting favorites?

Argentina, in everyone’s heart, because as people say, it would be a joy to see Lionel Messi walk off into the sunset with the biggest prize of all under his arm. However, after watching the Argentinians struggle so far, their 10% odds of victory appear generous.

In the absence of Ireland from the competition, South American nations are being foreseen to be the potential champions. Knowing the European culture, It is enjoyable seeing Spain, France, and others perform well, but the performance of the South Americans is something that is to watch for especially as they try to reclaim their title.

A lot of supporters also believe that Spain or France has the ability to actually win the competition. For some reason, Brazil isn’t getting as much love from the audience compared to the other two countries, despite their excellent squad. A punch to Neymar will not help either.

But then again, who knows? That’s probably why we watch the games.
