CBS Joins The Metaverse

As the first American network to visit Decentraland, CBS adds to the momentum for the broad use of metaverse technologies. The news will surely help to speed up the adoption of Web3 on a worldwide level and attract major media firms.

The Woodstone Mansion is now accessible to viewers of the popular CBS comedy series Ghosts, which debuted earlier this year, as part of a metaverse experience in the digital realm of Decentraland. According to the CBS studios, viewers will be able to engage with the show’s haunted house, Woodstone, in a novel and engaging way.

The metaverse experience will be a part of the CBS marketing campaign advertising the upcoming second season of the co-production with Lionsgate TV and BBC Studios. This will occur prior to the start of the new season. The popular CBS comedy’s new season will premiere on July 29.
For the video game, the eerie Woodstone manor from the Ghosts television series has been recreated. In order to take your first step inside the immersive experience, go to the entry portal in Decentraland. You’ll then enter the haunted house to start playing the game after choosing an avatar from the television program.

The show’s set resembled the one in the haunted home exactly. There are charming dialogues between the comedy show’s characters inside.

The reason CBS chose to launch its first foray into the Metaverse with the program Ghosts was explained by the company’s chief marketing officer, Mike Benson.

“We are always exploring for new and creative methods to expand the reach of CBS programs to new audiences,”

one of the network execs stated. Another person commented, “Our hit series ‘Ghosts’ looked like a logical fit for the Metaverse with its big audience, wide-ranging otherworldly characters, and enormous environment.”

He continued, “This extremely intricate and fascinating Web3 ‘Ghosts’ game in Decentraland brings the series to life in an exciting way that’s never been done, permitting visitors to have their own highly unique experience while exploring the world of the program.”
While on your journey, if you are able to solve puzzles and complete tasks, you will be rewarded with NFTs. The NFTs will eventually be part of the history of humor. A total of 1100 NFTs are available to each character.

The location of the collectibles, which come in a variety of rarities and may be found there, is the carbon-free Polygon blockchain network.

CBS and the Web3 marketing company CreativeDepartmentmint worked together to create the Ghosts Metaverse. The company offers clients advice on the business potential offered by Web3 and the metaverse in addition to having experience managing large-scale events.

The company’s founder, Jonathan Block-Verk, claims that this is the first time a network in the United States has ever generated a Decentraland game.

To produce the NFTs, CreativeDepartment worked with Moonwalk, and it contracted the metaverse company Terrazero to create the Decentraland experience and the metaverse Web3 game. Both of them were completed thanks to the work of CreativeDepartment.
The Decentraland Foundation, a nonprofit, is the holder of the intellectual property rights to Decentraland. To enhance the ecosystem as a whole, it works with businesses, consumers, and other stakeholders.

Adam de Cata, the Decentraland Foundation’s relationship manager, claims that
