One of the most well-known skateboarders of all time, Tony Hawk, just announced that he has partnered with the Sandbox in a press release. The objective of this project is to build Tony Hawk Land, which will be the greatest virtual skatepark ever made. A variety of Tony Hawk 3D avatars will be available in addition to the skatepark.

Three parties are cooperating on this project: Tony Hawk Inc., The Sandbox, and Autograph, with whom he has previously worked.

Tony Hawk, a renowned skating athlete and businessman, has won the World Skateboarding Championships a record 12 times straight. He shouldn’t need to be introduced. His success as an entrepreneur is evidenced by the fact that his computer game, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, has generated more than $1.4 billion in sales.

The metaverse skatepark will be constructed on a 6×6 area of land in the Sandbox, earning it the title of “The largest virtual skatepark ever made.” The tools required for players to create their own skate challenges and ramps, as well as acquire digital gear, will be made available to them as part of the game’s functionality.

In the press announcement, Tony Hawk describes the inspiration for his most recent foray into Web3.

“All my life, starting with the first video games and personal PCs with CGI capabilities, I’ve been a fan of new technologies. I am fascinated by the Metaverse as a result, and I am excited to share our culture with others in The Sandbox.”

The Sandbox is an Ethereum blockchain-based virtual world modeled after Minecraft. The Sandbox is the name of this Animoca Brands subsidiary. The Metaverse game platform is frequently described as resembling a hybrid of a virtual theme park and a piece of real estate. It enables them to acquire virtual domains, build on them, and generate bitcoin through games.

The Sandbox believes that Tony Hawk would be the perfect addition to the more than 300 projects presently hosted on the website, which also include Snoop Dogg.

Sebastian Borget, COO of Sandbox and a co-founder of the company, said: “We share his love of invention, creativity, and the goal to continually create something. This is the spirit that pushes our entertainment metaverse. There is no other strategy that would be more successful in introducing the skateboarding culture to The Sandbox.

The Sandbox shall make all NFTs and digital hardware within the Sandbox Metaverse interoperable with one another in accordance with the provisions of the agreement. They will utilise them by making voxel copies of the corresponding 3D avatar NFTs. According to the press release, the 3D voxel versions will provide in-game experiences that will increase their owners’ utility and worth.

Tony Hawk and the NFT platform Autograph have previously worked together. Tom Brady has a small portion of the business Autograph, which specializes in marketing sports collectibles for stars like Wayne Gretsky, Derek Jeter, and Tiger Woods. Brady participates in managing the company.

For use in the biggest skate park in the virtual world, Autograph will create a collection of Tony Hawk 3D avatars, complete with some of his most recognizable skateboards, accessories, and outfits.

A computerized replica of the skateboard he used to compete in the 1999 X Games is one of the collection’s non-fiction books that is anticipated to fetch a higher price than the others. It was the first time a 900, one of the trick’s most challenging variations, had ever been successfully landed. In the history of skateboarding, this occasion will live on in infamy.

Co-founder and CEO of Autograph, Dillon Rosenblatt, expressed his company’s “thrilledness to be teaming with Tony Hawk and the Sandbox” once more to produce unique virtual experiences for the Metaverse skatepark.
