DC Senior Vice President and General Manager Anne DePies remarked, “We want to expand the tangible, real-world experience of collecting comics into a new digital community.” We want to establish the community that everyone is so proud of in our digital ecosystem to make comic collecting more accessible.
Superman #1 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster is a cherished comic. DC Collectible Comics’ first drop will be restricted to 3,000 minted editions of a popular comic.
Each DC Collectible Comic is randomly given one of five rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, or Legendary. The Legacy collection’s rarity levels correspond to the comic’s digital wear. A Common book may look faded and old, whereas a Legendary comic is flawless. Modern DC Collectible Comics will have variant covers for each rarity.
